So this week was a great one when it comes to meals and meal planning. It wasn’t because we stuck with every single thing, though we did a really good job. It was because we got closer to establishing a routine. We are finally close to both a Whole Foods Market and a Trader Joes. I didn’t realize quite how excited I would be about this until I got here. And I am pretty excited. I don’t think we will be able to sustain doing all of our food shopping here, but I am determined to try my hardest to weave some item offered at these places into our diets.
Yesterday I scoped all of the sale items at Whole Foods and I went to look at the products that are on the shelves and stock up on sale items that made the most sense for our family. One thing I love about Whole Foods is the labeling. Most (not all) of the products do a GREAT job at labeling even the things they don’t have to like if it is produced in the same facility as other allergens. As an allergy mom, this is SO helpful. Another thing I love is the quality of produce and man, the sales in this department can be huge!
This week’s menu will use some of the items I purchased there! And don’t worry, I am going to continue on with including homemade snacks too!
Last week we just LOVED having homemade zucchini bread and Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips were awesome!
This week, we are adding:
1. Homemade Apple Bread
2. Chocolate Spritz Cookies from Real Food Real Deals
3. Homemade Soft Pretzels
And on the menu:
Sunday: Grilling Out - Cheeseburgers and Roasted Potatoes
Monday: Meatballs and 5 Ingredient Best Sauce Ever
Tuesday: Fish Sticks, Rice, and Green Beans
Wednesday: Terryaki Pork Loin with Roasted Carrots and Potatoes
Thursday: Pizza Night
I’m aways today/night at the Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore so Ben is on his own with the kiddos! There is an organic flatbread pizza place that we just love so I think they’ll go for that!
Friday: Night Out at Great Wolf Lodge New England
As soon as I arrive home from Baltimore we are off again to GWL New England for a Media + Families night! Stay tuned for TONS of pics from what is going to be a great time!
Saturday: Chili Cornbread Casserole
Last week we had chili and had a TON leftover so I froze it. I think I’ll use the leftovers for this!
What do you have for me? What’s on your menu this week?!

Can I send my family over to your home for dinner?
Yes, I finally got back into menu planning last week. As you said, we didn’t stick to the plan, though having a plan really, really helped, especially when I messed up the corned beef. We ended up eating it anyway, but I had a backup plan ready to go just in case.
