Tomatoes – A Necessity in Our Home

Tomatoes are a necessity in our house. We use them all the time, in many of our meals, and in the summer time fresh off of the tomato plants. Of course fresh tomatoes are our choice when it comes to incorporating them in our meals. We even freeze tons to last us all winter long. And, there is always a time when you’re in a rush or you run out of your stash and you need to grab a can of crushed tomatoes and add them to a pot of soup or a cozy crock pot meal!

One piece of advice that Mama H gave me (and there are many) was that when you decide to add a can of crushed tomatoes to a recipe, choose a high quality kind. It makes a difference. I have always stuck to that, especially in my Amazing Vegetable Soup.

Yes, it really is that amazing. For real. Like seriously, go and try it.

Red Pack Crushed Tomatoes are the perfect choice for this soup and others! Quickly putting together a bunch of ingredients in the crock pot and coming home to a fresh, home cooked meal is key especially when we are on the go. Check out some of these Slow Cooker Meals , many of them requiring tomatoes.

Up until November 12th you can enter to win a brand new slow cooker on Red Pack’s Facebook page. Enter once a day for a chance to win one of the slow cookers they are giving out each day!
