It’s National Pizza Month!

One thing this family loves is pizza. Every single one of us. In fact, some of us love it more than others (ahem, ahem, Ben). In fact, he has even decided that his new “thing” now that CMRecharge is over will be Pizza Score Card. He and his friend Dave from work decided that local pizza places needed to be rated by pizza aficionados and they were it:)

It is National Pizza Month and pizza is our go to meal. Often times we will make our own at home. With all of our fresh CSA produce and cheese, the combinations are endless. BUT, when we don’t make our own, I love visiting some of the local pizza shops in town. We all know that I am a gigantic fan of supporting local. And there are quite a few pizza places that we can go to that we love supporting.

Vincenzo’s just opened up in our town, just over a year ago. Why we love it? Because the restaurant staff has been so incredibly accommodating as far as my son’s peanut allergy goes. They go above and beyond to bring out every ingredient so that we can make sure there is no cross contamination.

Little Nicky’s. They are the other one that we love to head to. Often times when we are in a rush we head here. We all have our favorites. The fries…oh the fries! And the Holiday Pizza. Amazing! Their combinations are delicious! The thing I love the most about this place? The spinny bar stools at the pizza bar. The faces of the people behind the counter that I recognize because they are the kids of friends of friends. I heart local!

We also try to hit up the “local pizza places” when we are away from home as well. My favorite pizza place I have been to happens to be local to our very best friends. Recently they moved to Mullica Hill, a quaint little town in N.J. I am completely jealous of the fact that they can head to this pizza place any time they like. It is called  Marino’s of Mullica Hill and…get ready for it….it sources it’s ingredients locally. The ingredients it can get locally, it does. And the taste is amazing because of it. Why can’t more pizza places do this? It is a winning model.

It looks like diners typically agree that local is best! According to this infographic put out by, 81% of diners preferred independently owned pizza places as opposed to pizza chains.

pizza-infographi helps to fill nearly 5.5 million tables a year at local dining establishments. They work with communities to support local businesses and help families save money with gift certificates!

What are your favorite local pizza places? Give them a shout out!
