Margaritas Mexican Restaurant – An Authentic Experience for All

I have said it before and I will say it again, we are a taco family. Tacos are my best friend. Of course, they are our go to meal, but mostly because Mexican food is something that our ENTIRE family enjoys!

^This happens to be the reason I {kind of} felt bad when I got invited to check out Margaritas Mexican Restaurant in Waltham, MA. While my family was chowing down on a home cooked meal, I picked up Annie from Stowed Stuff and we drove up to the restaurant for a fun blogger night out. When we arrived we were greeted with Pumpkin Sangria (yes, it is as amazing as it sounds), friends, and incredible information about the restaurant itself. I gotta say, I am incrediby impressed. AND excited to find out that they not only have a bunch of restaurants in New England but ones in PA too.

Margaritas has been around for 29 years. It was started by co-founder John Pelletier in Concord, NH. Soon after John’s brother Dave joined in and more restaurants were opened. John and Dave wanted to create an authentic atmosphere with delicious Mexican cuisine that did justice to the creators of this food. They continue to take trips back and forth to Mexico, each one giving inspiration for artwork, colors, and flavors!

When you walk into Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, you immediately can feel something different. As you look around, you see traditional artwork, you can feel the warmth. And then you taste the food.

I had the opportunity to taste the new “fall menu” that Monday night and though I can’t share with you the flavors of the Taco Gigante, I can try to express how delicious this cuisine was. As soon as they mentioned that everything was made from scratch and fresh right there in their kitchen I knew it would be a good good meal!

Our first course (after the delicious seasonal drinks) were the apps. Bacon Guacamole was on the table when we arrived – served with homemade tortilla chips. Everything is better with bacon, right?! We then got to try the Habanero Honey Camarones. The hot, the sweet…it was perfect together. So many different flavors all rolled into one.

My favorite dish of the night came next. Mexican Corn Cakes – slow braised beer served with corn cakes in a sweet tomatillo sauce topped with salsa, avocado, poblano crema and queso fresco. Seriously delicious and I can not wait to go back again. It is most certainly what I will order off the menu.

We had been hearing so much about the Taco Gigante – the giant 2 pound taco so of course, I have to tell you that it was GIGANTIC!

The meal ended with sopapillas. They were delish!

One of my favorite parts of the night, aside from being in good company, was finding out that Margaritas has a “take out deal”. They sell their Freshly made Squeeze Margarita Mix, housemade, chips, and fresh salsa as a package. PERFECT to take to a friends for that party you need to bring something to. Or…to eat in the comfort of your own home. 😉

I am excited to bring the kids and Ben back to Margaritas. Now to figure out which one to go to!

**Disclosure: I was provided a meal and the experience at Margaritas. All thoughts and opinions and the love of this restaurant are my own. :)
