Day Out in Cambridge at the Cambridgeside Galleria

Sunday, September 28th – a gorgeous day in Cambridge. No really, the most gorgeous day ever and I was lucky enought to be out on a Charles Riverboat checking out new fall fashions with some nice ladies, then eating delicious food and shopping at the Cambridgeside Galleria.

As a newbie to Boston this was the perfect introduction to this side of Cambridge. Ben and I had once been to Cambridge on an impromptu date night to Henrietta’s Table this summer but that was the only time I had visited.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up on the 28th and it was in the 60’s with a high near 80 expected. As I drove up 495 and then 95 toward Boston, the leaves were just starting to change. Reds, oranges, and yellows filled the sides of the highway. It was a good day.

Many of the Boston Brunchers were waiting at the dock when I arrived. After just a few minutes we boarded onto the Charles River Boat and departed. As we sipped mimosas and ate some cheese and fruit we got the opportunity to check out some outfits prepared by the Cambridgeside Galleria. My favorite – totally this one: #MidiChic

But of course there were others too!

We spent about 30 minutes standing at the bow of the boat taking pictures. I think we were all in awe of the weather, the colors, the day. I had some wonderful company too! I got to spend some time with Janelle from Queen Beans and Wannabes, Erica from Boston Rookie, Danielle from Getting Fit in MA, and of course Boston Brunchers founder Renee. A lovely ride. I can’t wait to take Ben back.

After our boat ride, we headed into the mall for some lunch. PF Changs treated us to an assortment of dishes. Crab rangoons made with real crab and of course one of my very favorite dishes, Chicken Lettuce Wraps. I stuck with water but happened to regret not getting the Jasmine Iced Tea after I heard everyone raving about it! During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PF Changs has a special place in its heart for those that take a picture with the {now} pink horse in front of their restaurant. :)

As we all looked through our bags that we received from the Galleria, we decided that shopping would be our next stop. Erica had one this beautiful teal bag from Francescas. I have been looking for a classic brown bag for a long time and thought maybe I could find one here. Success!

Being new to Boston, we don’t quite have enough Boston sports gear yet and so I headed into Rosters to see if I could find some. I was totally overwhelmed by all they had. I ended up getting Ben a red throwback Patriots shirt and a soft cotton Bruins shirt for myself. Tons of gear that I haven’t seen anywhere else. This will definitely be my go to spot.

On the way out I picked up a piece of Hershey’s cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory for the kiddos. Mom of the Year over here!

I can not wait to head back to that area of town. It certainly is beautiful on the Charles River in Cambridge!
