Last week was great! We had lots of good things lined up!
This week is a different beast all together. We’ll be heading up to Boston for part of it for a visit. Super excited for this adventure as it will be the kids and my first time up in the area that we will be living in. Our plan? To explore. That is it. No agenda, just exploring and we can’t wait!
Meal Planning will be a bit more difficult this week. With H’s peanut allergy we can’t just pick up and go. I need to do a bit of research on some back up, allergy friendly places in the Boston area. Know of any? Leave a comment!!! I also want to make sure that I am set up with plenty of healthy snacks for the trip to and from. We aren’t the stopping type. Drive straight through is our motto:)
Here are 8 of our favorite on the go snacks! I plan on packing a cooler with yogurt and other snacks too. We made sure to get a hotel room with a microwave just in case we need to feed H something. He is a huge fan of Annie’s Homegrown Star-O’s so that is our fall back on the road!
Now onto what we have planned for the week.
Sunday: Pork Loin with Roasted Vegetables
I am using some leftover homemade BBQ sauce (recipe coming) as a marinade and the veggies we got from the farm this week!
Monday: Use up the fridge
We’ve got veggies, fruits, and some chicken. Hmmmm…
Tuesday: On the Road
Wednesday: Burton’s Grill in Hingham, MA
Allergy Eats gave this one 5 stars and the comments were fabulous when it comes to peanut and tree nut allergies!
Thursday: TBD
Friday: On the Road
Saturday: Crock Pot Salsa Chicken with White Rice
G’s birthday party is today so this needs to be and easy meal! And this is easy! 3 breasts of chicken in the crock pot with 2 jars of salsa (I still have some homemade) and 2 packets worth of taco seasoning. Cook all day then shred the chicken. Done. We love to eat it in tortillas or just over rice. YUM!
What’s going on in your kitchen this week?

Have a great trip! I know Myers + Chang has a nut-free menu. I think Not Your Average Joe’s is supposed to be good with nut allergies, too. I can ask some of my nut allergy mom friends for other leads if there’s a specific town/area you’re looking at.

Thanks for the tip! We were thinking of trying Not Your Average Joe’s (Ben has been eating there quite a bit:) but I haven’t heard of Myers + Chang! I’ll have to go look it up! Anything else you think of, send my way. Thanks Annemarie!
