Most of my good recipes come from my mom. That isn’t to say that I don’t take a bit of butter out of it or add a few more veggies. 😉 My mom is an awesome cook. I think I have said that before but it bears repeating. I ate well when I was growing up. From Veggie Soup to weekly steaks, to delicious baked goods, the Hancock house was a good place to be.
One of my very favorite appetizers that she made (and still makes) is Pizza Dip. It is one of those recipes that can be morphed into whatever floats your boat by adding or taking away. It is an easy one too for parties and get togethers and PERFECT for this upcoming Superbowl Weekend! We all love pizza…imagine this dip!
Here’s how it goes:
Mix together chive and onion cream cheese, sour cream, oregano, garlic, Parmasean cheese, Mozzerella cheese, and scallions.
Chop up and add in pepperoni.
* Here is where I get creative. I usually add some chopped green peppers, sausage, really any other toppings you like on a pizza, add in here.
Mix all of it together. Place in a baking dish. Pour pizza sauce over top. You can use a 9×9 or like me, use a circular stoneware.
Bake at 350 for ~ 40 minutes until bubbly on top.
Serve with crackers or Pizza Crust Triangles!
Ingredients
- 2 - 8oz. containers of chive and onion cream cheese
- 1 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 tsp minced garlic
- 1 cup Parmasean cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzerella
- toppings (pepperoni, sausage, green onions, etc.)
- 1 cup Pizza Sauce
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except for toppings and pizza sauce. Place in a baking dish (either 9x9 or a round baker). Pour pizza sauce on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until bubbling on top.

I’ve heard of Pizza Dip but never had it - I could see the men in my life taking this and keeping it all to themselves…my husband would probably hide it so he could have it all, lol!
