My Lanyard Maker {Review}

lanyard-1

When I was growing up we made friendship bracelets ALL.THE.TIME. It was the thing to do. Remember? It was a challenge to do a rainbow knotted bracelet 8 rows deep. Day and night I spent making those bracelets. Pink and black…I made lots of bracelets with that color combination because it was totally the “in” combo!

Now, there are all sorts of cool bracelet making devices. Just recently I had the opportunity to review (all right, maybe it was C that had the opportunity to review it) My Lanyard Maker from My Friendship Bracelet Maker. It came just about a month ago, right before C broke her arm:( So, our review was put on a bit of a hold. She has been staring at it just waiting to get her hands on it! I guess you can say we were building up excitement!

Finally, it was time to break it open. So open it we did. The first thing that C noticed? All the bright colored lanyards that she had to work with. There were tons of them! The first think I noticed? The storage! Woot! Score one for The Lanyard Maker! There are two storage drawers on either side of this bracelet maker that hold all of the supplies needed. A wonderfully amazing concept making it MUCH more likely for mom to hang onto it;)

My Lanyard Maker came with instructions for making 4 different bracelets. I will say though that we definitely referred to the website when making these bracelets because there are handy videos on how to go about each one! There are also downloadable instruction sheets for many other varieties. We went ahead and made the Zipper bracelet first. C’s fingers still aren’t working perfectly so I was on board to help. It was a wonderful activity for us to do together!

I was actually so happy to see that G jumped right in and wanted to make a zipper pull for his backpack. He decided on the Box. After we got started I had so many memories that it brought back of me doing this one as a child! Of course he chose Hawkeye colors…yellow and black:) It was much easier this way because there are holders where you can place the laces to help.
