Howlidays Are Coming to Great Wolf Lodge New England

A few weeks ago an email landed in my inbox. It was one of those ones where you read it and jump for joy inside. And then…you look at the date - and there is a conflict. OH NO!

You see, I had booked a flight to Baltimore for the Natural Products Expo (the flight had been booked for months). Leaving on a Thursday at 6 a.m. and returning on Saturday just in time for soccer at 8 a.m. So when I got the invite to go to Great Wolf Lodge New England Friday night, I knew something had to give. And that something was my trip. Never have I been more happy to change my plans!

Telling the kids was AWESOME! They have been wanting to go to Great Wolf Lodge forever (total exaggeration - for like 3 years at least though;) and now was their chance!

We met each other there a few Fridays ago and as we got into our room, I knew the adventures were just beginning. Such fun decor, a comfy hotel room, AND wolf ears. We were ready to go!

Now, the reason we were going was certainly to have fun, but also to preview Great Wolf Lodge’s upcoming Howlidays. Something I didn’t know was that Great Wolf Lodge celebrates Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the Winter Season in amazing fun ways with their guests during special times of the year.

Howloween is coming up and Great Wolf Lodge is ready.

Throughout October, you get to experience a fun and festive stay with all sorts of activities geared toward this holiday that every single kids looks forward to for months before!

Use those costumes an extra time and join in for the Costume Parade. Go on a special “Trick or Treat” trail with ghostly prizes throughout. And end your night with Spooktacular Storytime and a traditional Monster Bash!

For a small fee, you can decorate trick or treat bags complete with Wiley. H enjoyed this! And he enjoyed filling his up too. With nut free treats, we could all join in on the fun.

We were treated to a sample of their Thanksgiving buffet dinner. Let me just say, I am contemplating coming back on Thanksgiving JUST so I can eat that food again. The whole fam went back for seconds. And I may or may not have gone back for thirds. We aren’t just talking roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans. There was a gorgeous ice sculpure with fresh crab and shrimp inside and a classic homemade mac and cheese for the kids.

Thanksgiving was a great transition into Snowland. The REAL SNOW started falling and we knew we were in for a good time!

Visit Great Wolf Lodge after November 29th and experience a true winter wonderland. Dine in a life size Gingerbread House, write letters to Santa and visit with him and Mrs. Claus.

C, G, and H absolutely loved decorating cookies! Again, nut free!

And I’ll let you in on a little secret…Shhhhh. Great Wolf Lodge has THE BEST homemade hot cocoa that I have ever tasted. Complete with a homemade marshmallow. Seriously, it is amazing.

As if that wasn’t enough, you still this whole, gigantic indoor water park at your disposal along with a spa, bowling alley, arcade, game quest, mini golf, and unlimited other activities for the whole family!

We spent an entire day in the water park and seriously could have easily spent much more time too! Each of us had our favorite rides.

For H it definitely was the “water motorcyle” as he called it (particularly when he was squirting Ben)!

G’s favorite…Pretty sure it was Otter Run. He climbed up and down those stairs over and over again!

And C, she loved floating around in the wave pool. The waves were GIGANTIC and came on at intervals. By the end of the day she had figured out that putting on a life jacket and just letting the waves take her all over the place was the best. For mom, the best part was the row of chairs that I could sit in while I watched the kids in this pool. H even conked out for an hour and half nap. Heaven!

Oh yeah, I forgot the other kid…Ben. His favorite was the Wolf Tail, a 360 degree thrill ride where the floor literally drops our from underneath you. Not a chance you were getting me on that thing. Not a chance!

At the end of the day, we did not want to go home. As exhausted as we were from literally less than 24 hours of fun, it was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. I feel so lucky that we could go and have the kids experience such a wonderful time.

These Howlidays at Great Wolf Lodge are going to be some of the best experiences out there. Make sure to get in on it while the fun’s available!

**Disclosure: I was given a one night stay at Great Wolf Lodge for my family and I. All opinions and thoughts are my own. This was an amazing experience and we will certainly be going again!
