DIY Personalized Easter Basket - The Perfect Place to Store Hershey’s #BunnyTrail Treats {Giveaway}

One of my very favorite Easter traditions began on the very first Easter that we had with a little one. C was just a few months old on her first Easter. I can remember it vividly. She was a first child. We even got Easter Pictures taken in her dress. Like, professional photos. That year I knew I wanted to start a tradition that would continue for her whole childhood. I decided to make her Easter basket, one that was personalized by me. We did not have the money to buy a gorgeous embroidered one but hey, I could pick up the needle. So that is exactly what I did.

I headed out to the craft store with a %50 off coupon and picked up an Easter basket, one with the liner in it. I picked out a gorgeous pink colored thread, an embroidery needle, and I got to sewing.

It wasn’t glorious but it was personalized, it was done by me, and it was (in my mind) something that she would remember forever. It certainly was something I was proud of. :) The boys, yep, when they came, each of their first Easters, I did the same thing. H’s is green and G’s is blue.

Each morning on Easter, that lovely bunny comes to our house and fills up those baskets with delicious goodies and a few other things. He hides some eggs and the kiddos go on a hunt for them.

You can check out some other creative Easter basket ideas in this post.

This year the Easter treats came a little early too (or like I told the kids, we were just testing out which ones to tell the Easter bunny that we liked:) A fun box of Hershey’s candy landed on our doorstep.

There were some classic favorites, REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup Eggs, which I secretly hid and ate when everyone was tucked in and asleep:). I especially love the white chocolate ones. It is almost like there is a thicker layer of chocolate on them which is absolutely welcome! There were also some new additions that I had not seen before…JOLLY RANCHER Hard Candy flavored jellybeans AND JOLLY RANCHER Hard Candy lollipops - YUM! G is a gummy kind of candy guy and so these were his favorites by far.

The traditional Easter colored HERSHEY’S KISSES Milk Chocolates I used in Smores Cookies and I stashed the rest - what? They are perfect for the Easter Bunny to hide in Easter eggs! So are ROLO Candy!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I love that Hershey’s is really great about their labeling. Having a little one with a peanut allergy, you come to appreciate the companies that go the extra and put whether or not it is made in the same facility as peanuts (or whatever major allergen).

I am all about crafts and new fun ideas for Easter baskets. Hershey’s has some GREAT basket ideas over at their “Everything Easter” site, Celebrate With Hershey’s. My favorite one? The Little Artist Basket for sure! We certainly have some budding artists in this family so I’ll be using these ideas for sure! Do you do the Easter Bunny do themed baskets for your family? I’d love to hear what kinds! Join in the fun and use the #bunnytrail hastag to chat all things Easter!

Best part of all of this? You have a chance to win an Assortment of Easter Candy from Hershey’s! Enter below!
