Get Covered – The Deadline is Coming!

Not sure if most of you known, but in my {very recent} past life, I was a nurse. Actually, my best friend (and also nurse) says, “once a nurse, always a nurse”, so I guess I still am one. Either way, healthcare is a part of my life. I feel strongly about a lot of things regarding healthcare…

One of these things I feel strongly about is coverage. Personally, Ben and I have always sought to be sufficiently covered by insurance. It is one of my biggest nightmares to be without healthcare coverage. When we were first married and having kids, Ben and I made sacrifices to make sure that we had this coverage. We chose where we worked for the healthcare benefits. There are millions that live every day without coverage. Now the state of insurance, that is another blog post that I won’t write about here:)

All politics aside (and I really, truly mean that), with the passing of the new Healthcare Law, the deadline to enroll in healthcare programs is March 31st. That is less than one month away. Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans are not covered? And 1 in 4 young adults aren’t covered. Times are changing and it is time to enroll and get covered if you aren’t right now.

Here’s how to go about it:

1. Head over to Get Covered where you can get some questions answered.

2. Below you can calculate the estimated cost for coverage.

Two important things to note is that you cannot be denied coverage if you are sick or have a preexisting condition. AND…there are people on stand by to help if you have difficulty enrolling.
