So last year, I went scouring the internet (okay, maybe Pinterest and Tastespotting) for a delicious St. Patrick’s Day meal that I could serve on March 17th to the family.
I am Irish. My darling, amazing, grandmother, my children’s Supernanny, is Irish. Her mother’s maiden name is Purcell. I find it important to let my kids know that they have Irish heritage. It is a great way to introduce geneology. Last year we called my grandmother and asked her some questions about her family. This year I think we’ll have to do the same only maybe have her tell these stories to the kids!
Anyway, what better to celebrate this heritage with than an Irish themed dinner? Let’s just say, we are not a Corned Beef and Cabbage kind of family. Not that it isn’t delicious, I am sure it is amazing. My kids won’t eat it.
Last year’s meal was Irish Beef Stew from Lauren’s Latest. It was such a hit that it has been requested almost every single week as an addition to the Meal Plan.
This year, I went searching again so I thought I’d give you some of the options for this year’s St. Patty’s Day Meal!
Irish Beef Stew from Lauren’s Latest
Cheddar Shepard’s Pie from ValSoCal
Drunken Irish Stew from Bakeaholic Mama
Shamrock Steak and Dumplings from Taste of Divine
Side these with some Irish Soda Bread from Souffle Bombay
And maybe a few of these for an after dinner treat! Irish Potatoes from Real, The Kitchen and Beyond
What will you serve on St. Patrick’s Day?
