6 Natural Water Alternatives: Staying Hydrated

I have to admit…I don’t really like to drink water.

I know, I know, it is the best thing for you. Forget the sugary drinks, I get it. It’s not that I want to drink sugary drinks all the time, it’s just that water isn’t that appealing to me so I end up drinking nothing instead. Which is NOT a good choice either.

This lady’s getting older and staying hydrated is good for the skin. Those bags and dark circles and fine wrinkles under my eyes are asking for more hydration so I’m gonna give it to them. Not to mention the fact that I am hoping that increasing my (natural) fluid intake will increase my over well-being, and fitness level as well. Nothing is worse than drinking a cup off coffee, going for a run, and coming back with granules all over your forehead because you have already stopped sweating. Not that I would know anything about that, clearly I am talking about someone else.;)

So I have been getting creative with tricking my mind into all natural hydration and I have even started *gasp* craving water!

Here are my favorite natural alternatives to my plain jane water:

Mint Tea – This is my all time favorite. I can’t wait to jump into our new home to start my crop of mint. Until now, I’ll rely on the closes farmers market. This one is so easy to make at the beginning of the week in a giant stockpot and it lasts all week long too. Check out my recipe for Chamomile Pineapple Mint Iced Tea.

Cucumber Infused Water – Again, it’s a great time of year for this water. Cucumbers are coming in leaps and bounds. This seems like an easy one to have on hand all the time!

Strawberry Basil Flavored Water – It’s the perfect time of year for this one and Natasha’s Kitchen has a great recipe for it! How refreshing!

Grapefruit Spritzer – I heart grapefruit and this gives it a little carbonated kick for a nice refreshing after activity drink. Or maybe just for fun:)

Blueberry Lemon Water – This sounds like the perfect combination!

Pineapple Mint Water – We had some pineapple leftover the other day so I just added it to my mint “tea” that I had made – Delish!
