Colorful Denim This Spring!

Spring Jeans

When it comes to pants this spring, color is the thing! Neons, pastels, brights, you name it. Cropped and capri skinny jeans are in full swing and blue denim just isn’t good enough for this spring, we need the pop! <– I can’t believe I just said that. Miss “my favorite pair of jeans is from 1996 (Gap flannel-lined, high-waist)”, but I did say it and I am TOTALLY hooked on this new trend.
Between the pair of Ting-Tang Lee Jeans I got at the MomMixer last weekend. and a pair that I picked up elsewhere, I am all set to start this season off right. The thing that I love about this new look is the idea that you can pair it with so many different options on top. Keep the top simple and plain and add a burst of color with jewelry, or go the other way with a busy shirt and maybe a cardigan for a cool spring day. This is what I wore last Saturday (except I chose the mint green color pants). It is one of my newest outfits and I am in love! Oh and that purse… I don’t have it, I just want that. :-)
A Lovely Spring Day Out

Worried about the idea of wearing so much color, OR the idea of skinny jeans? I know. I was too, but it works. Just try it, you will love it. I have completely embraced it. Honestly, it’s fun. Color is fun. There’s no way around it.
I learned some other fun style tips from Lee Jeans this past weekend that I think I may just try too. NEWS FLASH! It’s okay to roll your jeans again! Yes, rolling went away for a long time, but just like neon, it’s back. So all of you fellow shorties out there, no more excuses! Those Ting-Tang jeans…they may be a bit too long, but I’m rolling them!
One style tip from Lee that I may not quite be ready for is the prints. I had read Jo-Lynne Shane’s post at Musings of a Housewife a few months back about prints being in this season, so I was prepared mentally, but definitely not ready to take the plunge yet. In fact, Brooke, my Lee Jeans stylist for the day at the mixer, had me try on a pair of floral jeans (I had been eyeing them up in line). I didn’t step out of the dressing cube. I just couldn’t, not yet. In time…
I have been really coming out of my “dull” style shell lately and it feels great!
What color jeans are you most looking forward to wearing this spring? Better question…what ones would you LOVE to wear but don’t yet feel comfortable in? I think mine would be neon green!

  1. It’s funny how trends cycle back. I remember loving my green rolled jeans in middle and high school. Maybe it’s time to give them a go again! Thanks for sharing these ideas!

  3. I loved the jeans you wore to the Mom Mixer. I tried finding a pair of colored Lee jeans at Kohl’s though no luck. I may try again next week at a different Kohl’s.

  6. I love this collection that you put together! I’m loving the colorful/floral skinny jean trend, but as a shrimp with curves I’m afraid it’s not for me (whaaa). I suppose I should at least try some on? Thanks for the inspiration and so nice meeting you in real life today!
