Oooh! I can hardly wait for canning season. The green is out, I see flowers on my tomato plants, herbs are a-growing, and word around town is that strawberries are getting ready to ripen. It is almost time.
Now, last year I had quite the line-up of canned good and I don’t plan on slowing down this year. If anything, I’ll be speeding up and adding more. Sure, we are moving and will be in a 1000 sq. ft apartment, but come on…my February Self Will Thank Me next year for pushing through;) In fact, check out my plan for this year.
I am adding gift giving to the mix and so plan on canning a bit extra of everything. I am constantly seeing great ways to spruce up a canned good, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites here. So start canning AND getting crafty at the same time. Here’s your inspiration!
Chalkboard Style Freezer Canning Jar Labels – I love these free printable labels from Lia Griffith. The “chalkboard” look is so in these days and would make the perfect shelf decoration in your kitchen or a friend’s too! I love the calendar themed labels where you can mark the date you canned (or froze) which is super helpful! http://liagriffith.com/printable-chalkboard-style-freezer-canning-jar-labels/
“Homemade” labels – This design from the Cottage Industrialist is perfection in my eyes. I love the simplicity of it all. And yet, it completes a canned good like no other. Can’t wait to print these out and have a canning party!
“Canned with Love” – Yes it was! Another great label from Ladyface for those gifts.
Jam Labels and Tags – I love the colors on these labels and tags from Eat Drink Chic! The fabric is a gorgeous touch and the tags circling the jar make it easy to personalize this gift!
Shrinky Dink Labels – These labels from City Girl Farming ROCK! We heart shrinky dinks and are most definitely doing this this year. Oh man C and G are going to be so excited! And apparently, you can make a shrinky dink out of a #6 recyclable plastic as well (clamshell containers). Can’t wait to try it!
Washi Tape Canning Lid – Such a simple yet great idea for decorating the lid of a home canned good from Bless the Mess! I have a ton of Washi tape in the craft cabinet just waiting to be used!
How do you spruce up your canned goods?

I could always use a little more spice in my canning
Thanks for the cute round-up lady and thanks even more for including me! I feel super honored. Love your blog header too… so pretty!
