Prom – Remember Those Days?

I went to prom with Ben. Yep, high school sweethearts in the house! It was perfect. I can vividly remember the night and who Prom King and Queen were (two of the nicest people in our class). I can also remember who we went with, how we got there, and what we did after it (LBI of course!).

My dress…yes, it was phenomenal. A gorgeous mint green high neck sleeveless dress, tight on the top and poofing out on the bottom. Perfect. Ben, man, he just looked dapper!

Junior prom, yep I still remember that too. The thing I remember the most about that day (other than the party after which was possibly the most awkward parties of my life and Ben and I still laugh at it to this day), was the gown that one of my very best friends Erin (still a bestie today) wore. It was a pink fairytale dress. There is no other way to describe it, it was gorgeous, then, and now. :)

The other day we were at a birthday party for Erin’s son, and she gave C this bag full of old dresses. They were all of her and her sister’s gowns from dances growing up. C went to town! Oh the memories!! G and C went right to town when we got home playing dress up. We were saved by the Hershey Kiss costume that Mrs. H made that was thrown in there!

She dressed in every single dress that was in that bag and then proceeded to look at her reflection in every window and our oven and then finally, G became her waiter (I have NO idea how that happened). She was getting refreshments brought right to her. Smart girl! It was a fun evening for them, but also for me. Memories in those dresses and memories watching others wear them.

And then, nights later, as we watched the Red Carpet before the Oscars, I found C putting that pink fairytale dress to wear as she watched everyone come down the carpet. Dreaming…

Tell me about your prom dress, what was yours like?

If you had to choose again, what prom dress would you choose? http://www.jenjenhouse.com/Prom-Dresses-c18/

  2. I went to LBI after my prom too! (I’m a Jersey girl – I guess that’s where most of us went.) Great memories!
