Fall and Denim – A Match Made in Heaven

There is something about the start of fall. Those first cool, crisp days, the ones where you wake up under the covers not wanting to move even one toe out of your bed because of the chill that is in the air. Yet, you don’t want that chill to leave either. That chill means fall and fall is beautiful. Not only that but fall also means cozy clothes!

I live for the day I can get out my {way too big} stash of jeans and pair them with my comfiest sweater, grab my coffee mug, fill it, and enjoy a convo with a friend. <— seriously one of the best times I can imagine.

This year I get to experience fall in New England and me and my denim stash are ready. Every year I add a pair (or two). I try to pick a pair of jeans that are versatile – ones that can dress up OR dress down for classy days around the house. A lot hinges on the shirt.

I’ve put together two of my favorite outfits to show you just what I’ll be wearing this fall with my new pair of Lee Modern Series Curvy Jeans.

First I have the dress down. For those days where you are running errands, in and out of the house, off to school, maybe dance or soccer at night.

Of course this outfit has to include Athleta (a fav brand of mine), some Lee, TOMS, and Gap. In case you were wondering, here’s what we’ve got: Lee Jeans Modern Fit Curvy, TOMS, Athleta No Sweatin’ It Sharkbite Top, Athleta Merino Soma Sweater, Athleta Textured Infinity Scarves, Banana Republic Cubic Circonia Vintage Earrings

Next up is my dress up. Out for a date night or maybe a girls night out to a restaurant downtown.

I am all about multiple uses for items of clothing!

Everyone should start getting ready for fall denim days and the perfect way to do it is Lee National Denim Day on October 3rd! Kicking off the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month and these cozy days of fall, grab your favorite pair of jeans and join in. Spend $5 for a day to dress down and donate to the American Cancer Society and its fight to end breast cancer.

Lee National Denim Day has been bringing in fall since 1991. In the last 23 years this day has raised over 91 million dollars in the fight against breast cancer! 91 million dollars! One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. THIS is an important and real fight.

Grab your friends, co-workers, family, whoever, share your love for denim and your desire to help raise money for this cause. Form a team today at denimday.com! And make sure to follow along on the action with the hashtag #DenimDay

  1. I still have a pair of silver tab Levi’s that I own since high school. I can’t fit in them anymore, but they are my fave pair of jeans.

  2. How about my FAVORITE pair of jeans, and how they died?? It was a long time ago too, but I had not KNOWN it, but I’d had a stroke during the week. I was still sick so I went to the doc on a Sunday with excruciating pain. They admitted me right away, I was diagnosed and on my road to a full recovery! 2 weeks later, I asked my husband where my favorite Gap jeans were. “Oh, they cut them off you.” Le sigh, I was bummed, but I know to be grateful too since this was the only bad thing that came out of that stroke! Still looking to replace those jeans a decade later…
