Disney Baby, Oh How I Adore Your New Line…..

Last year my family took a trip to Disney World. It was then that I realized how much the magic of Disney captivates everyone, young and old. My parents went with us, so one night we put the kids to bed early and my husband and I headed off like two kids in the night to close down the Magic Kingdom. With smiles and laughs we rode Space Mountain, ate ice cream, and got caught up in the innocence and magic that is the Disney experience.

Fast forward to last Saturday. I headed up to New York with a van full of women ready to preview Disney Baby’s newest line of products. Some have been out for a short time, and some haven’t even been released yet. As we walked in the door to the Penthouse Suite where the event was being held, I was immediately transported back to the memories of those magical moments. I mean, how can you see Pooh and Tigger and NOT get a little giddy? Well, you can’t. :-)

Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I got invited to the event, but I knew that I loved the Disney theme and I knew it would be a great day out. I was really quite blown away. Take the magic of the parks, the quality of the brand, and the cuteness of babies, put them all together and you have Disney Baby…Really an adorable, innovative, creative line. Not to mention, the women and men who were speaking about the products were legitimately excited about them. You could see that they are really personally invested in the product. They believe in it, and they believe in making it the best. Come on, it is Disney…the best of the best.

I would win an award for the longest blog post ever if I touched on every single item there, because there were over 100, and all of them were cool, but I did have my favorites for sure. Oh, and I am saving the best for last, so make sure you read on. :-)

I was immediately drawn to the Monster’s Inc. room decor and baby wear. It is perfect. Monsters Inc. is this wonderful movie (with a sequel out soon) that is timeless. It is a grow-with-me room style… both the colors and the items are great for an infant theme and a big boy room too (I have my eye on it for G and H). Diaper holders, mobiles, crib sheets, really everything that you can imagine in a baby/kids room.

They even have the most adorable clothes. And check out these shoes!! Seriously? Come on H, we can squeeze your foot in there, right? **A note about the shoes: Disney Baby has partnered with Stride Rite, and any mom knows that this partnership means quality when it comes to shoes.

My next favorite item was definitely an “I missed the boat – wish this would have been around when I had an infant” item. Disney Baby partners with Graco to make a swing/bouncy seat combination. This one is in a beautiful, yet subtle pink Minnie print. It stays low to the ground and glides back and forth, but the seat is removable and can be placed on the ground to be used as a bouncy seat as well. A FANTASTIC space saver (which I adore)!

Of course, I always try to stay on the hunt for eco-friendly products, and Winnie and Tigger come into the picture here. The Winnie the Pooh line has taken a subdued, relaxing, calm, sensitive and eco-friendly approach. I love the tranquil feel of these pieces as opposed to the standard high-energy, bright colored (read retina-burning) vibe of most children’s items. The clothing in this collection uses lots of light, calming colors. Relaxing toys like a 4-in-1 puzzle (G used to play with one this style for hours when he was little) and a partnership with Cloud B brings a light projector toy (complete with hidden Mickeys) into the mix. I was also pretty happy about this eco-friendly laundry detergent that is economical enough to be used for everyone in the family.

Now, I told you I would save the best for last, and I totally did! Disney and Glidden together have launched a line of paint. Honestly, ideas began running through my head as soon as I saw the colors and effects up close and in person. There is a line of colors for so many of the Disney Movies including Monsters Inc., Cars, Tinkerbell, The Lion King, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and more! The colors are so vibrant and perfectly matched to those seen in these shows. Making over a kid’s room could not be more fun! Well, unless you had effects for these paints, which YOU DO! I got the chance to chat with Hannah Flora, a DIY connessiour, and we talked about some ways you could use the glow-in-the-dark paint. Paint a whole wall, the back of a door, or even just stencil some characters on the walls. Then there is the metallic paint, perfect for an accent wall. AND glitter paint, both coarse and fine. C would go CRAZY! I can’t leave out the chalkboard paint. Yes, we have all seen chalkboard paint a million times before, but have you seen it in a bunch of different colors? Yes, they have that too! Honestly, I am not even doing it justice. Get to Walmart, the official carrier, and check it out. Your imagination will run wild.

Check out this Car themed room that Carrie from Making Lemonade made for her son. Honestly, the road made with Disney chalkboard paint…awesome! And making chalkboards of all different colors, that’s awesome too! Lauren from MidgetMomma does this here. Oh the places I could go with this stuff…SO FUN!

And that’s just it, Disney Baby is making it fun for all ages. Even the parents are getting excited about these themes and the quality of the products!

**Disclaimer: I was provided transportation to the event as well as a bag full of samples. No compensation was provided and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
