I quite possibly could have the craftiest girl on the planet living in my home. She is fascinated with the smallest of mediums and enjoys reusing and recycling things we use in the home to make her art. Crafting gifts are a huge win in our house during the holidays. That said, there are a few particular favorites that I have based on how they’re made and what they’re made from.
Here’s hoping you find something crafty for your little one on this list of crafty gifts for your 6-9 year old!
I fell in love with these eco-friendly art kits at the Natural Products Expo. Each one is filled with gorgeous, natural supplies to make a particular craft. Their materials are sourced as much as possible from the U.S.
As soon as I saw the Needle Felting Kit, it was love. Needle felting is something that C and have been doing for a while. It is a fun, natural activity that makes us both smile. C tried out the Art Dolls kit and loved it! Creating dolls in any way you like with fancy paper, felt, beads, etc. But there are TONS of options to choose from: Bubble Wand Making Kits, Wire Jewelry, Ornament Making…
The kids first run in with this journal was on our trip to the West. They used it as their travel journal for our roadtrip. The pen that comes attached to the journal isn’t only a pen but has a glue stick too. C and G would grab a brochure from the places we went and immediately glue it in place on one of the pages. Call it an on-the-go scrapbook!
This is a gift subscription service that sends a new craft kit each month to your home. Each month’s box has a different theme and contains a few small crafts made from ecofriendly materials. It is a great gift idea because it can show up months after the holidays over.
If you don’t have an old school potholder made by one of your little ones, you’re totally missing out! Seriously, this opens the doors for creativity, fine motor activities, etc. Grab one. These never go out of style.
I am pretty sure that gifting this book to your crafty little one ensures that you will be creating a fairy garden this spring. I can think of nothing more awesome. I know C would run wild with these ideas. Shhhh, her awesome family from Iowa is getting the kids a bunch of fairy accessories this Christmas for this very reason!
A great way to introduce the world of knitting to your little one. Sure, it isn’t traditional knitting BUT once you feel the yarn and begin to enjoy what it feels like as you’re working with it, how can you go back? Belts, bracelets, ribbon, wonderful gifts and creations all around! The perfect on the road craft too.
Tell me, what is your go-to crafty gift?

Those little creative paper dolls are adorable. How fun! I love girls.
