Chuggington StackTrack Rescue and Rocky Ride Playset and DVD {Review and Giveaway}

A few years ago, just before I had H, I had a friend whose child was in love with Chuggington. It was my first introduction to this adorable train based series on the Disney channel. Cute characters, adorable voices, and good lessons. As we were packing up and getting ready to leave for Colorado, we filled H’s carry on back pack with a bunch of train related items secondary to his complete fascination with trains. One of the items was a musical Chuggington book. It was one that had pictures throughout that went along with buttons on the side of the book which animated the different parts. H loved it. Sounds make kids happy:) Since then, I must say that we haven’t had a ton of interaction with this Disney cartoon.
But when we got the opportunity to review a Chuggington toy, the StackTrack Rescue and Rocky Ride Playset and Chug Patrol:Ready to Rescue DVD by TOMY to be exact,  I spoke for H and we were all in. The playset came one day and DVD another. It was perfect timing…in the midst of having to keep H in one room because of torn up floors elsewhere:/ It was just what we needed at that moment, a new toy,a distraction!
The three kiddos all helped Ben put the set together. As much as I thought this toy was for H, I was wrong. Listed as 3 and up, not only was it great for H, but for G and C too. Ben set it up and we exchanged a look of “oh gosh” as soon as it was finished. We thought for sure this was going to be a disaster. Sure, the kiddos were completely into it at the moment, but as soon as it  fell apart I could see the water works coming.
I was completely wrong. The pieces went together extremely easily and there were multiple configurations you could put them in. Morning after morning, all three of my kiddos have been coming downstairs and setting up the “track” together. It came with  Coco and Wilson too! The track has flip switches which H loves to play with and there are large hills that Coco and Wilson fly down. The tracks are easy enough that he can do almost all of them himself. I just made sure to get a large bin to keep the pieces in when it was not being played with. That organization was key!
As far as the Chug Patrol DVD goes, we are all totally into it. H grabs his Coco and Wilson, jumps up on the chair and tunes in. We don’t watch a lot of TV in this house so we screen what we do watch and for that special 30 minutes where mom needs to get dinner on the stove, this Chuggington DVD is perfect!
The Chuggington StackTrack Rescue and Rocky Ride Playset is made by TOMY and can be purchased at Amazon.
I am super excited to offer this great playset and DVD in the form of a giveaway to a reader!
What is your child’s favorite toy?
