A Quick Family Picture Trip Through the West

As I sit recovering from the time change (actually, it isn’t that bad, I just feel a bit bad for H), I am looking through pictures of our wonderful trip out west. Though many times it felt like a vacation, I won’t call it that because it was certainly not relaxing. However, it was filled with beauty, surprises, and adventure. Perfect for the Blakesley family! Here are some of my favorite pics…

Arriving in Durango, greeted with hugs and cowboy hats…

A little discovering on grandma and grandpa’s property. Checking out prairie dog holes and a cactus…oh, and of course dirt. Lots of dirt!

The Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum was a wonderful place to learn about culture in Ignacio, Colorado…

Spending a little time with the horses and riding on the trails before leaving Durango…

Let’s get going…old school map reading time with NO service in the west!

Checking out the Four Corners Monument. What state would you choose to stand on:)

Absolutely NOTHING compares to the beauty of Monument Valley. Breathtaking…

Greeted by a dust storm upon arriving in Monument Valley…

And leaving this gorgeous place after a nice hike!

Onward to the Grand Canyon!

Last day on the road trip driving to The Petrified National Forest and through The Painted Desert. Another beautiful drive…

One last stop in Durango…Pinkerton Natural Hot Spring (just on the side of the road:)

And goodbye to you Colorado…until we see you again!

We had a fabulous and ACTIVE trip! Don’t worry, there will be many more posts and pictures to come:)

What travel plans do you have this summer??

About Lauryn Blakesley

A woman out to explore, celebrate, and enjoy everything that my community and living locally has to offer. Blessed with three beautiful children and an incredible husband, our family embraces adventure while dreaming of what is to come. Lover of knitting, running (although mostly after little ones right now), the color orange, fun accessories, fall, tea, and a clean kitchen floor. I spend my days in awe of my family and trying to teach my three to treat others as they would want to be treated.
